Integrations

Yale Connect can be integrated* with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, enabling voice control through compatible devices.

*Feature available only for locks with a ZigBee communication module.

From the Yale Connect app:

1. Open the Yale Connect app.
2. Go to Integrations in the menu.
3. Select Amazon Alexa.
4. Follow the step-by-step tutorial to link your devices.

Or from the Amazon Alexa app:

1. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
2. Go to More in the menu.
3. Tap Skills & Games.
4. Search for the “Yale Connect” skill.
5. Tap “Enable to use”.
6. Enter your details and sign in with your Yale Connect administrator account.
7. Alexa will automatically detect your homes and ask you to select the one you want to integrate.

Please note: Your Hub and locks must be online during integration.

From Alexa, you can view the status of your locks, lock and unlock them. You can set permissions: ‘Open by app (Alexa)’ and ‘Open with voice’.

For voice unlocking, a numeric PIN will be requested each time Alexa is invoked. 

From the Yale Connect app:

1. Open the Yale Connect app.
2. Go to Integrations from the menu.
3. Select Google Home.
4. Follow the tutorial to connect your devices.

Or from the Google Home app: 

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Tap “+ Add”.
3. Select “Link app or service”.
4. Choose “Works with Google”.
5. Search for the “Yale Connect” action.
6. Enter your details and sign in with your administrator account.
7. Google Home will automatically detect your homes and ask you to choose which one to integrate.

Please note: Your Hub and locks must be online.

During the pairing process, you will be asked if you want Google to be able to unlock your locks by voice; if you answer ‘Yes, definitely’, you will be asked for a numeric PIN. If you do not activate this feature, it will not be possible to open the locks by voice command.

When finished, you will see your Yale Connect locks in the Google Home app. From there, you can view their status and lock and unlock them.
